RAILWAYS CLAUSES CONSOLIDATION ACT 1845 - SECT 48

As to crossing of turnpike roads adjoining stations.

48. Where the railway crosses any turnpike road on a level adjoining to a
station, all trains on the railway shall be made to slacken their speed before
arriving at such turnpike road, and shall not cross the same at any greater
rate of speed than four miles an hour; and the company shall be subject to all
such rules and regulations with regard to such crossings as may from time to
time be made by the Board of Trade.
