LANDLORD AND TENANT (IRELAND) ACT 1871 - SECT 1

Saving certain rights of tenants.

1. In every case in which a sale, conveyance, or declaration of title has been
or shall be made, under the provisions of the
Landed Estates Court (Ireland) Act, 1858, subject to any tenancy, the tenant
and those claiming under him shall have all rights which are declared to be
legal, or to which he or they is or are or may become entitled in respect of
such tenancy under the first part of the
Landlord and Tenant (Ireland) Act, 1870, and the sale, conveyance, or
declaration shall be subject to all such rights, although such rights may not
be specified or referred to in the conveyance or assignment executed or
declaration signed by the Judge of the Landed Estates Court; and the word
"tenant" shall in this Act have the same meaning as that assigned to it in
section seventy of the Landlord and Tenant (Ireland) Act, 1870. Nothing in
this Act contained shall in any manner impair or affect the provisions of the
Landlord and Tenant (Ireland) Act, 1870.
