LANDLORD AND TENANT (IRELAND) ACT 1870 - SECT 12

Partial exemption of certain tenancies.

12. A tenant of a holding which is not proved to be subject to the Ulster
tenant-right custom or such other usage as aforesaid, whose holding, or the
aggregate of whose holdings, in Ireland is valued under the Acts relating to
the valuation of rateable property in Ireland at an annual value of not less
than fifty pounds, shall not be entitled to make any claim for compensation
under any provision of this Act in cases where the tenant has contracted in
writing with his landlord that he will not make any such claim.
