JURY LAWS AMENDMENT ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1926 - SECT 16

Detention of jurors in civil trials during interval for refreshment.

16. Jurors sworn in any civil trial may, in the discretion of the presiding
judge, be detained during the adjournment of the court (other than an
adjournment at the termination of the proceedings for the day) and be provided
with reasonable refreshment during such adjournment; and the cost of such
refreshment shall, if a verdict is found, be payable and taxable in like
manner as sums payable under this Act to a juror for his service, and shall,
if no verdict be found, be payable by the parties to the proceedings in equal
shares.
