FRIENDLY SOCIETIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1970 - SECT 89

1960 c.22

89.(1) When a registered society or branch is guilty of an offence under
this Act, every officer of the society or branch bound by the rules thereof to
fulfil any duty of which the offence is a breach or, if there is no such
officer, then every member of the committee shall, subject to subsection (2),
be guilty of an offence and liable to the same penalty as if he had committed
the offence.

(2) It shall be a defence for a member of the committee of a society charged
with an offence by virtue of subsection (1) to prove that he was ignorant of,
or that he had attempted to prevent, the commission of the offence.
