FORESTRY ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1953 - SECT 5

Penalty for contravention of section four.

5.(1) Any person who fells any tree in contravention of section four of
this Act shall be guilty of an offence under this section and shall be liable
on summary conviction thereof to a fine not exceeding ten pounds or twice the
sum which appears to the court to be the value of the tree, whichever is the
higher.

(2) Proceedings in respect of an offence under this section may be brought
within six months of the discovery of the offence by an officer or member of
the Royal Ulster Constabulary or by an officer or servant of the Ministry, but
shall not be instituted more than two years after the date of the offence.
