CHILDREN AND YOUNG PERSONS ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1968 - SECT 18

Penalty for offences under Part I.

18.(1) Every person who is guilty of an offence under this Part, other than an
offence under section 9(1)(f), 14(3) or 17(5), shall be liable on summary
conviction to a fine not exceeding one hundred pounds or to imprisonment for a
term not exceeding six months or to both, and the court may order any child in
respect of whom the offence was committed to be removed to and detained in a
place of safety.

(2) Every person who is guilty of an offence under section 9(1)(f) or 17(5)
shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding fifty pounds,
and every person who is guilty of an offence under section 14(3) shall be
liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding ten pounds.
